The owner is the loveliest lady ever. Her and her staff hosted a cooking class for 38 of our teenagers on an European tour. They made the late afternoon so special, even organising an quick birthday celebration for twins on tour. The atmosphere, food and planning was simply the best.

We had the best time at Opera in the Kitchen! Lulu is incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is beautiful- it was so fun to pick from the garden. The food is delicious and all ages can help (our four kids did everything). The opera is beautiful and a celebration at the end. I highly recommend this experience!

We had a lovely time learning to cook a 4-course Italian lunch with Lucrezia. She had every step nicely planned and was particularly welcoming in teaching the children how to make pasta and panacota. Her Tuscan country home and vineyards are beautiful. She made us feel at home, so we would recommend the experience!

Cooking with Lucrezia was the highlight of our sibling getaway to Tuscany! We had so much fun cooking together, and a good glass of red wine made every dish even better! Wonderful experience from start to finish! A quaint location and gorgeous villa sets the scenery for a lovely cooking class with a local host who is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. My wife and I are visiting Tuscany on our honeymoon and signed up for a cooking class with Lulu at Opera in the Kitchen. We had a fantastic lesson and concert experience! Upon arrival we were welcomed by Lulu and given a chance to look around her beautiful property that contains a vineyard, olive grove, and vegetable garden.

Then she brought us into the stable of a beautiful old farmhouse that she had converted into a kitchen and talked to us about her background and passion for food. Also, she rotates her recipes based on what is in season and available locally. We chopped tomatoes for bruschetta and prepared carrots, celery, and onion to add to the main dish of chicken cacciatore. We then moved to the stove, seared the chicken thighs, and sautéed the vegetables with tomato paste while also making espresso panna cotta for dessert later.

Once our work at the stove was done we moved outside to the beautiful stone porch and learned how to make her grandmother's cavatelli pasta. We enjoyed sipping a glass of local Chianti in the beautiful scenery and between each course of our dinner we were serenaded with different opera excerpts from famous Italian composers. The opera singer taught us about the composers as well as the protagonist of each aria so we could listen for those details as she sang.

Truly an unforgettable experience!

Visiting at this 1600s villa felt like stepping back in time. From the moment we arrived, the grounds felt warm and welcoming, with a peaceful atmosphere that made the entire experience feel both authentic and inviting.

Our evening began in the garden, where we picked fresh sage before moving into the kitchen to prepare a beautiful meal together: tomato bruschetta, cavatelli, chicken, and panna cotta. The entire experience felt relaxed, genuine, and full of joy—good friends, good food, and wonderful conversation. Dinner was especially memorable, with music in the background and a lovely young woman singing opera, which brought back cherished memories of family gatherings.

Lucrezia and her team were exceptional hosts—welcoming, knowledgeable, and generous in the way they taught and shared their traditions. They created an atmosphere that made everyone feel like family. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a genuine taste of Italy. Grazie mille!

Fantastic time spent at this beautiful villa making scrumptious dishes with our master chef Lucrezia! “Lulu” especially was a ray of sunshine and our group shared many laughs with her! Opera in the Kitchen was one of my favorite experiences in Tuscany. Going to LuLu’s home and cooking with our new found friends was so much fun. Lulu was wonderful and informative with her infectious smile. Having experienced the cooking on a beautiful day with opera while we dined was more than I expected. The incredible day in the Tuscan mountainside was breathtaking. I would highly recommend Opera In The Kitchen to anyone wanting to experience the Italian life and authenticity coming from an American Italian.

We were gifted a session for 6 by an Italian relative and had the best time! The recipes were step by step, with extra coaching for when we had questions. We enjoyed it so much that I have purchased another session for early next year. I highly recommend, especially for far flung families, as the lesson is a chance to "get together" electronically.

Walking into Opera In The Kitchen feels like stepping back in time. The home, built in the early 1600s, carries a rich history that you can sense the moment you enter. It’s like cooking with Nonna herself, warm, authentic, and filled with tradition.

Lucrezia and her team are not only talented chefs, but also incredibly welcoming hosts. The entire experience was one of a kind: we laughed, drank wonderful wine, cooked delicious food, and capped it all off with an opera singer whose performance was the icing on the cake.

I also had the chance to stay in the House of the Rooster which is an ancient Tuscan Villa and was every bit as magical as the cooking experience. It felt like an extension of the storybook atmosphere.

If you’re visiting, I highly recommend scheduling Opera In The Kitchen and staying in the Villa. It’s an unforgettable experience I’ll treasure, and one I plan to repeat for years to come.

Lucrezia and her team created a fun, interactive, delicious experience! We were part of a group of 8, and Lucrezia was able to keep everyone involved, and participating fully in preparing the meal. The dinner was outside in a beautiful setting. It was my partners' 60th birthday and she added extra touches, like birthday candles to dessert, that made it even more memorable. Thank you Lucrezia!!

Lulu not only taught four of us how to make a true Tuscan meal with ease and joy, but then surprised us with an unbelievable soprano opera singer during our candlelit dinner. Opera in the Kitchen was an incredible experience! The location is absolutely stunning and Lucrezia and her team provide a warm and engaging welcome. My husband and I booked their pasta cooking class on Cesarine and it was the highlight of our trip to Italy. The experience provided history, intimacy, and a true farm to table experience with a lovely walk through their vineyard, harvesting herbs from their garden, and fresh ingredient cooking. Dinner with strangers was nothing short of amazing sharing quality time over a delicious meal, prosecco, and wine. A beautiful opera singer was presented, and the performance was stunning! A thoughtfully curated experience - Would highly recommend!

From the delicious home-cooked dinner we made with fresh, local ingredients (from their garden), to the delightful wine tasting at their charming vineyard, every moment was a treat for the senses. Our family of four had an AMAZING experience. The hosts arranged for pick-up in Florence, which made getting there easy and convenient; our driver Stefano was very kind. We made cavatelli from scratch and other dishes with the help of the friendly and helpful Chef Cristina. The dishes that we helped prepare all came out wonderfully and tasted so fresh. We loved hearing about the history of the villa that the experience takes place in. Everything was delicious… from the wine made on the property to the pannacotta we had for dessert. The cost of the experience is extremely reasonable for all that is included. Last, and certainly not least, the opera performance by Sabrina was outstanding. I feel honored to have had this experience, and it is something I will remember always!

Our family of four had an amazing experience at Opera in the Kitchen. Lulu and her fabulous staff made everyone feel at home. From touring the grounds, picking our vegetables, preparing the meal and finally eating the final product….every step was organized and inviting. Making the entire group feel like family. Wow! This was an evening we will never forget. This was one of many experiences we had on our month long vacation in the area and it was absolutely the best one! Totally worth every penny! The host was excellent, the class was very fun and the opera was wonderful! Who knew a group of strangers could have so much fun together and leave as friends! The whole experience was 5 stars. The host lucrezia and the chef Matteo was great.
We don't like to cook, but the lessons was fantastic.
They both gave us a family fill.
We are recommending a lot.
The garden very nice. You eat your dinner at the sunset.
And after that you have the opera show at the patio

This was a wonderful event at so many levels. It gives the international traveler a way to connecting with fellow travelers from around the world in a comfortable, fun setting. Conversation flows easy as you prepare evening meal together under the guidance of an experienced chef, drink wine and eat together.

Our group was interacting with one another as if they were old friends. This event made that possible in a unique way. The cooking class was top-notch, everyone on the team was polite and professional.

After dinner we enjoyed wonderful opera selections accompanied by classical harpist.

This event exceeded my expectations. It was very moving. I would highly recommend this anyone traveling in the area. Hats off to Lucrezia and her team.
